Description

"Switch" is a middle-grade fantasy novel by Ingrid Law that follows the story of a young girl named Gypsy Beaumont, who discovers she has the power to change into other people. Gypsy comes from a family with extraordinary abilities, known as "savvies," where each family member possesses a unique supernatural talent. However, when Gypsy turns thirteen, the age when the family's special powers typically manifest, she realizes she has no savvy of her own. Feeling left out and inadequate compared to her siblings and cousins, Gypsy struggles to find her place within her family and community. One day, while practicing for her family's annual talent show, Gypsy accidentally discovers her unique ability to "switch" into other people's bodies. At first, she is thrilled by her newfound power and uses it to experience life from different perspectives.
