The "Divan of Kamal al-Din Isfahani" is a collection of ghazals and quatrains by Ismail ibn Muhammad Kamal al-Din Isfahani, presenting a treasury of literary expressions, proverbs, allegories, and reflections of the customs and norms of the late 6th and early 7th centuries. His poetry, rooted in his historical and ethnic experiences as an Iranian, reflects the outcome of his interactions with other communities during his years as a poet. Ismail ibn Muhammad Kamal al-Din Isfahani is one of the renowned poets of the 6th and 7th centuries AH (12th and 13th centuries CE). His father, Jamal al-Din Isfahani, was also a prominent poet of the 6th century who, before pursuing poetry and being recognized as a poet, was engaged in mercantile profession.
