Wittgenstein on Rules and Private Language by Saul A. Kripke offers a provocative interpretation of Ludwig Wittgenstein's later philosophy, particularly focusing on the rule-following considerations presented in Philosophical Investigations. Kripke introduces what has come to be known as "Kripkenstein," a skeptical reading that challenges the possibility of objective rule-following and meaning. He argues that there is no fact about an individual that determines what they mean by a word, leading to a form of skepticism about meaning and language.
