The Horses of the Sky Fall in Rain of Dust Play by Naghmeh Samini

Description

The Horses of the Sky Fall in Rain of Dust by Naghmeh Samini is a modern stage play freely adapted from the story of Siavash in Ferdowsi’s Shahnameh. The play delves into the inner life and psychological crises of this legendary figure, portraying his entry into fire and his encounters with himself and others. Structured in three parts—Threshold of Fire, Journey of Fire, and After Fire—Siavash confronts multiple characters representing aspects of his psyche and the surrounding society, reflecting both internal and external conflicts. Samini employs a psychological approach and innovative dramaturgy to transform Siavash from a mythic hero into a deeply human character with complex emotions. The language blends classical and modern styles, effectively conveying the characters’ thoughts and feelings.
