This book describes the life of one of the prophets of ancient Iran who appeared two hundred years after Jesus Christ. Mary, son of Mary, was born when people worshiped various gods and her father had joined a new sect. He had left home months before Mani was born, but returned years later to accompany him, taking Mani with him and leaving him among the cult members. Mani spends difficult days under the difficult and strange teachings of the sect until, during his adolescence, a message is revealed to him and he realizes that he has reached the position of a prophet.
