"Tehrane Ghadim" (Old Tehran) by Mahmood Pakzad is a photographic collection that features images of old Tehran and provides a visual documentation of the city's history, landmarks, and everyday life during the 14th century in the Iranian calendar (early 20th century in the Gregorian calendar). Pakzad, a seasoned photographer, initially began printing and selling his old photos during a time when business was slow in 1360 (1981). His early photographs of Tehran’s streets, businesses, objects, famous buildings, hospitals, and cinemas quickly attracted public interest, and people would often stop by his shop to admire or purchase the prints. As the demand for these nostalgic images grew, Pakzad devoted himself entirely to printing his old photographs, eventually retiring in 1377 (1998) after a successful career.
