In the preface to "Sadegh Hedayat & the Writer's Death" by Homa Katouzian, it is stated: "This book comprises two parts: an essay on Sadegh Hedayat and the death of the writer. The first part began as an article, but it became clear that presenting it as such would necessitate excessive brevity. Therefore, it was expanded into a short monograph. Although it could have been developed into a larger book, my usual preference for conciseness opposed this idea. The second part of the book is a collection of five essays, all but the second of which have previously been published in literary and cultural journals. Various considerations led to the decision to publish both parts in a single volume, even though they might have been better served by being printed separately.
| Literary Analysis | A sharp, analytical exploration of the philosophical themes of mortality and authorship in Hedayat's work, presented in a critical essay style. |
