About this work, we read by Jean During: "The tanbur, despite its simplicity, is a complete instrument to which percussion accompaniments add nothing, because the right hand strikes on the instrument clearly define the rhythm with impeccable clarity and enable the performance of various desired melodies. That is why the Kurdish tanbur, especially the master's tanbur, is rarely accompanied by a drum, and in rare cases, drum accompaniment is used to support the singer's voice or to bring the crowd to dance. The tanbur itself is a complete instrument, and at the same time, a perfect complement to singing... In some cultures, this instrument is used in the performance of religious and sacred music as well."
