Jaber Ibn Hayyan Author

Abu Musa Jabir ibn Hayyan was an Iranian scientist, alchemist and philosopher. Jabir ibn Hayyan was a member of the House of Wisdom and one of the translators of the translation movement. He has been called the father of chemistry and is credited with many methods (such as distillation) and a variety of basic chemical tools such as tinsmiths. Jaber was born in the city of Toos in the province of Khorasan. His father, a well-known pharmacist, was assassinated for his role in overthrowing the Umayyad government. Jaber became interested in the surviving writings of his father and continued his career. Jabir ibn Hayyan was eager to learn other sciences as well. This caused him to emigrate from Tus to Kufa.
