Hofreh Book by Mohammad Rezaei Rad

Description

Hofreh by Mohammad Rezaei Rad is a powerful and unflinching novel that confronts the devastating realities of war. Unlike many works that romanticize or glorify conflict, this book exposes the true horror and absurdity of destruction, portraying war as an unstoppable force of death, bloodshed, and ruin. Set decades after the Iran-Iraq War, Hofreh follows the aftermath of this catastrophic conflict, revealing its lasting impact on individuals and society. Drawing comparisons to Ahmad Mahmoud’s The Land of Fire, Rad’s novel combines stark realism with profound reflection, positioning him as one of the authentic chroniclers of modern Iran’s wartime devastation. The narrative challenges readers to witness the irreversible consequences of violence and the human suffering left in its wake.
