Baba Taher Oryan Hamadani
Baba Tahir or Baba Taher Oryan Hamadani was an 11th-century Persian poet from Hamadan. Baba Taher Oryan Hamadani is famous for composing Do-Beyti. Baba Taher’s Do-Beyti are with themes such as love, nostalgia for life and are very pleasant and beautiful. From Baba Taher, in addition to his famous Do-Beyti, a collection of short words in Arabic called “Asharat” has been left. His poetry is written in the Hamadani dialect of the Persian language. He lived during the reign of Tugril of the Seljuk dynasty over Iran. No accurate information is available on Baba Taher’s family, education and life. Baba Taher tomb is located in the north of Hamedan and in a square named after him.
