"An Madiyan Sorkh Yal" is a semi-historical-semi-mythical work in the biography of the famous Yemeni-Arab poet "Emr al-Qais" and the author of one of the seven poems "Suspended Seven", which were considered the greatest masterpieces of poetry of the Arabs. Dowlatabadi explains his motivation for writing this story: It was in the course of reaching the name of "Qais" that I came across a relatively clearer character than "Amr al-Qais", a poet whom I had a vague idea of since my youth ....
