"A Wizard of Earthsea" is a fantasy novel written by Ursula K. Le Guin. First published in 1968, it is the first book in the Earthsea series. The novel is a coming-of-age story set in a richly crafted fantasy world known as Earthsea. The story follows the protagonist, Ged, a young boy with innate magical abilities who discovers his potential as a wizard. Ged attends a school of wizardry on the island of Roke, where he learns the art of magic but also confronts the consequences of his own arrogance and ambition. As Ged grows into his powers, he must face a dark force that he himself unleashed, and in doing so, he learns valuable lessons about balance, responsibility, and the nature of true power.
