The book "A Afternoon of Sixty Years" is a collection of short stories by Naguib Mahfouz. The Persian translation of the title, "Sabah al-Ward", literally translates to "Good Morning," which is also the name of another story within the collection. This work, published in 1987, one year before Naguib Mahfouz was awarded the Nobel Prize, is derived from three distinct short stories. While each story maintains its own thematic and narrative independence, they are interconnected, and in a way, provide a brief and condensed revisiting of the themes explored in Mahfouz's famous trilogy of novels.
