Sadegh Hedayat was one of the pioneers of modern Iranian fiction writing and also a prominent intellectual. Many researchers have considered his novel “The Blind Owl” to be the most famous and brilliant work of contemporary Iranian fiction. He is the first Iranian person who translated texts from Middle Persian (Pahlavi) into modern Persian.
