Adam in the Qur’an By Mehdi Ghaffari and Hassan Moghimi Esfandabadi
Description
Verb by Mohammad Rezaei Rad is a thought-provoking play that explores the power and limits of language in human relationships. The story follows Farhad Kateb, a literature teacher in a girls’ high school, whose thesis on the theory of the “verb” unexpectedly sparks chaos across time and space within the school. Through the complex interactions between Kateb and his student Leila Arash, a melancholic and passionate pupil, the play examines how language serves both as a veil of reality and as the only medium for understanding others. Raei illustrates that while words can reveal aspects of truth, they cannot fully capture the depth of human action or emotion, and the pursuit of pure action can transcend the constraints of speech and grammar.
