"Six Scary Stories" is a collection introduced by Stephen King, featuring six selected horror stories from a competition organized to promote a book titled "Market of Nightmares." The competition, which attracted around eight hundred submissions, sought to find the most compelling and frightening tales. Despite the high volume of entries, the selection committee, known for their rigorous standards, chose only six stories for further consideration. Among the entries, Stephen King was particularly impressed with "The Deadly Swim" by Elodie Harper, but he decided that all six stories deserved to be published. This decision led to the creation of this anthology. The collection aims to showcase a variety of horror narratives, each crafted by talented writers.
