"The Good Egg" by Jory John is a delightful story about an egg that lives in a carton with eleven other eggs, each with incredibly interesting names. The Good Egg does everything expected of him, is highly productive, and follows all the rules diligently. However, his friends aren't quite like him. They often behave badly, and despite his efforts, the Good Egg struggles to maintain peace. He becomes so distressed and anxious that cracks start to appear in his shell. Realizing he needs to take care of himself, the Good Egg embarks on a journey, starts walking and reading books, and slowly but surely begins to feel better about himself, and his shell starts to heal. Missing his friends, he decides to return but is determined not to let others' behaviors upset him anymore. He knows that while others may misbehave from time to time, it's okay; nobody's perfect.
