"Man az Gurani ha Mitarsam" (I Am Afraid of the Guranis) by Belgheis Soleimani is set in a small town named Gooran. It tells the story of a woman struggling against the restrictive traditions that bind her. She faces these old customs while grappling with various philosophical questions that occupy her mind. Haji Pilevari, a prominent figure in the town, has a daughter named Farangis. Farangis, who was sent to Tehran for her education, is married and leads a comfortable life. She returns to her hometown as planned by her family, to spend two months away from her father, just like her siblings, to take care of her elderly mother and her mentally and physically ill brother. In Tehran, Farangis faced numerous challenges, including an unsuccessful marriage and divorce, which she gradually reveals to the readers throughout the story.
