"The Gramophone" is perhaps one of the most different works of Sadegh Zibakalam. Both in terms of style, and content, it stands out from the other works of this professor. This book also presents another aspect of Sadegh Zibakalam. He says: As I think about the few lines that should be written behind the cover of "The Gramophone" to describe its subject, my mind cannot reach a conclusion. Should I say it's a story? Memories? The biography of a political figure who, unlike many other Iranian political figures who are men, is a woman? It's a poignant account of the final years of a lonely woman named "Parivash Sattari," who was twenty years old when her husband, Dr. Hossein Fatemi, was executed; or, it's the story of an aristocratic family whose one son-in-law was executed by the Pahlavi regime and another son-in-law, was executed by the Islamic regime!
