The music album "Avaz-e Esfahan" by Barafshan Ensemble is a unique compilation that intricately weaves together pieces, compositions, and performance elements from the late Qajar and Pahlavi periods. In this work, the vocalists and soloists endeavor to draw inspiration from the performance techniques, expression styles, and melodic approaches prevalent among musicians from the late Qajar era to the end of the Pahlavi era. They skillfully blend these influences with their own personal interpretations and expressions, crafting sections of solo performances, vocal responses, and singing throughout the album. The artists, including Haman Khalili, Farima Movafaqi, and Mehdi Valizadeh, showcase their mastery by infusing the essence of historical musical traditions into their unique renditions, resulting in a captivating and harmonious musical journey.
