Darren O’Shaughnessy is an Irish writer and novelist. He is best known for his young adult fiction series published under the pseudonym Darren Shan. After graduating from college, he worked for a television network for two years and then wrote forever. In January 2000, Darren O’Shaughnessy wrote a book for children called “Cirque Du Freak”. He wrote this book mostly for fun and marketed it with two other books he had written for adults, but this book was very popular. He did not anticipate this sale and continued writing, but for children. During 5 years he wrote 11 more books in this series.
