The Crime of Count Neville by Amélie Nothomb
This is her twenty-fourth book in twenty-four years. It is set in the Belgian Ardennes and tells the story of the aristocratic Nevilles. (Nothomb herself is descended from Belgian aristocrats.) One night, Sérieuse is out wandering in the forest after midnight when she is spotted and taken in by the local clairvoyant. When Henri picks her up, the clairvoyant forecasts that he will hold a sumptuous party (which he knows, as he does so every year) and at this party, he will kill someone.
Finding the most appropriate children’s book is one of the most important concerns for parents. Children need stories to grow and better understand various phenomena. By listening to stories in simple language, they become acquainted with different cultures and people and learn how each of the characters reacts to different events and how they control their emotions. Children’s stories take them to the fantasy world and increase their creativity. These days, a large number of children’s story books are published and translated by various publications. But among the countless works, some of them have survived, and every year many people prepare these books for their children. It is good for children to learn educational material in addition to reading stories, and to increase their social ability to enter.
