Persian Tanbur by Soozani – A Long-Necked, Fretted Lute Handcrafted from Mulberry and Walnut

Description

The Persian Tanbur by Master Soozani is a beautifully handcrafted long-necked, fretted lute that captures the soul of traditional Persian music. Built in the ribbed “Pashneh” style, this instrument features a mulberry wood body and soundboard that produce a warm and resonant tone. The neck and tuning pegs are carved from solid walnut wood, offering excellent durability and tonal balance. It comes with 14 polymer frets, a bone nut, and a horn string holder for smooth playability and elegant aesthetics. Lightweight and responsive, this Tanbur weighs only 600 grams (1,300 grams with hard case) and measures 99 cm in total length, with a 40 cm bowl, 20 cm opening width, and 17 cm depth. Its soft attack and refined tone make it a favorite among musicians and collectors alike. Available in a limited batch of 4 pieces, each instrument includes a protective hard case.

It’s a good instrument. Of course, the tanbur is a mystical/spiritual instrument.
