Persian Calendar
The history of the Iranian calendar dates back to more than four thousand years ago. Over time and throughout history, the chronology in Iran has seen many changes. The findings show that the calendar in Iran is rooted in the Babylonian calendar, which was the solar-moon calendar. But the Iranians used the solar system for calendars. About 2500 years ago, after the birth of Zoroaster and the formation of the Achaemenid rule, the chronology changed in Iran. With the spread of Zoroastrianism, the Zoroastrian calendar was recognized in Iran.
