The Mahdi (al-mahdiyy), meaning “the rightly guided one”, is eschatological Messianic figure who, according to Sunni and Shia belief, will appear at the end of times to rid the world of evil and injustice. In Islam, it is said that he will appear before the second coming of christ (Isa a.s) and establish the Divine kingdom of God. According to the hadith of Ja’far al-Sadiq, the face of the mahdi is shining like a star and the Mahdi and his army will help humanity to cleanse their hearts of all evil by means of the name of the divine God
